Annual EEO Public File Report
The purpose of this EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply with Section 73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following stations:
WIZM(AM), LaCrosse, Wisconsin
WIZM-FM, LaCrosse, Wisconsin
WRQT(FM), LaCrosse, Wisconsin
WKTY(AM), La Crosse, Wisconsin
KCLH(FM), Caledonia, Minnesota
KQYB(FM), Spring Grove, Minnesota
The information contained in this Report covers the period from August 1, 2010 to, and including, July 31, 2011 (the “Applicable Period”). The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this report contain the following information:
1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period;
2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy;
3. The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period;
4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and
5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(2) of the FCC’s rules.
Appendices 1, 2 and 3, which follow, provide the required information.1

Section 3: Supplemental (Non-Vacancy Specific) Recruitment Activities Undertaken
Family Radio, Inc., licensee of the above-referenced stations, has and will continue to be an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. As required by Section 73.2080 of the Commission’s Rules, the stations have participated in several different recruitment activities to ensure broad outreach, including the following:
1 Internship Program (§73.2080(c)(2)(v)). In March 2003, the stations established an internship program to attract qualified minority and other student candidates. Through hands-on training, qualifying high school or college students work at the stations learning about broadcast radio operations. The students also receive academic credit for participating in the program. We had 2 Interns on staff this time period. One in programming, Aimee Heller who interned at KQYB-FM with Brad Allen where she learned On-Air Announcing, Traffic Logs, Media Touch, Remote Broadcasts and other day to day functions of a Radio Station.. One in Sales, Ashley Ticher worked with Therese Barrett where she learned how to sell Radio Advertising and recruit for new business..
Broadcast Compliance Services (§73.2080(c)(2)(vi)).Participation in general outreach efforts by an Internet program. Family Radio Inc. participates in the Broadcast Compliance Services EEO Compliance System, www.bcs-ok.com
Annual Management Institute (§73.2080(c)(2)(viii)).Training program to enable personnel to acquire skills for higher-level positions. Programs included were Customer Service, Financial Management 2 and Managin Organizational Change & Motivation. Jean Madsen, Jen Mauel, Howard Gloede and Cedric Friesen attended the Walker WBA Foundation Annual Management Institute.
UW-La Crosse Job Fair (§73.2080(c)(2)(i)). This event was held October 13h, 2010 at University of La Crosse in Lacrosse, Wisconsin from 10am to 3pm. Ken Cooper, Production Manager, Sam Strong KCLH Program Director and Rob West KQYB Program Director represented the stations at a booth during the job fair. There were approximately 500 job seekers in attendance. Mr.Cooper, Ms. Strong and Mr West distributed information regarding employment at the stations to potential candidates for hire and accepted resumes.
UW-La Crosse Job Fair (§73.2080(c)(2)(i)). This event was held February 23rd, 2011 at University of La Crosse in Lacrosse, Wisconsin from 10am to 3pm. , Ken Cooper, Production Manager and Kristy Nix Business Manager represented the stations at a booth during the job fair. There were approximately 500 job seekers in attendance. Mr. Cooper and Ms Nix distributed information regarding employment at the stations to potential candidates for hire and accepted resumes.
Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program – November 2010 (§73.2080(c)(2)(vii)). Sales Coordinator, Corri Moran, President, Richard Record, Business Manager, Kristy Nix performed an evaluation of program candidates and submitted those evaluations to the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association’s Education Committee. On-air commercials were run on each of the stations in order to notify the public of the scholarship program. Applicants were encouraged to contact the stations for information regarding the scholarship program and application materials were sent by the stations to interested candidates. This is a 2 year program. Family Radio Inc. also made a monetary contribution to the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for the Scholarship Fund in January 2010 and January 2011
Lathrop and Clark HR Training Seminar(§73.2080(c)(2)(xiv)). This event was held on 9/22/2010 and was attended by all Mid-West Family Broadcasting Management Personnel. Topics included: FMLA, ADA, Fair Employment Act, Hiring A to Z, Supervision, Evaluation and Firing. Operations Manager, Brian Jackson, General Manager, Howard Gloede, General Sales Manager, Theresa Timm and Business Manager, Kristy Nix attended from La Crosse location.
Drive Through Job Fair (§73.2080(c)(2)(ii)). We hosted this event. It was held September 8th, 2010 between 4:30pm and 7pm. Promotional ads were run on all six stations beginning August 29th, 2010 encouraging listeners to plan on attending 19 businesses participated with approximately 350 people attending. Materials were distributed and questions answered. General Sales Manager, Theresa Timm worked the event.
